Meet the Midwife

ABOUT:

My journey into midwifery has been long and winding, starting from a small spark during my childhood. There was nothing more fascinating and powerful to me than the thought of bringing babies into the world! While my initial pursuit of midwifery was based on more romantic notions of homebirth and getting back to “the old ways”, my education allowed my philosophy to evolve in huge ways. I firmly believe that everyone deserves medical autonomy and compassionate care. Shared decision-making and informed choice are cornerstones of my practice, and the practice of midwives in general. I am also passionate about holistic full-spectrum midwifery care, which includes serving those who are planning an abortion, surrogate pregnancy, assisted reproduction (IVF, IUI, etc.), initiating lactation after an adoption, and everything beyond and in-between. My practice embraces inclusivity and diversity, and I strive to make it a safe space for all people, in all situations.

When not attending clients and babies, you can find me in my garden, cooking, chasing my daughter and dogs around, or enjoying the beautiful Maine woods and waters in all seasons. I live in Lincoln with my husband, daughter Evelyn, and our three dogs and two cats.
